These activities are designed in to complement the use of the feelings diary, helping pupils take their emotional awareness further and begin to develop some useful strategies for dealing with uncomfortable feelings such as anger or fear.
Circle time is a useful format for many of the discussions and activities to take place. If you are unfamiliar with the circle time approach, I suggest you read Circle Time, an activity book for teachers by Teresa Bliss and Jo Tetley (1993) in order to gain an understanding of how it is carried out in class.
