In a book described as ‘a practical guide’, readers are entitled to expect to find items that will help them in their everyday work, rather than theoretical discourse. I hope I have provided enough practical ideas and experiences to satisfy this expectation. Nevertheless, theory can be valuable, too, because it helps us to choose one strategy over another in seeking to help a child, if we do not have direct experience for a guide. For this reason, this book will include theoretical aspects of dyslexia.
