Conclusions and implications for intervention

This final chapter has two main purposes. First, based on our findings in these two studies and on the literature, we present a series of conclusions about the dynamics and effects of physical and sexual aggression during dating and courtship. Second, we address possible avenues of intervention and prevention. In both sections of this chapter, we frame our conclusions in the form of working statements; in this way, we hope to highlight the major insights gained in this qualitative study as well as the ways in which our work is tied to that of many other scholars and activists.
