The National Curriculum's aims are to ‘enable all young people to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens' (QCDA 2007b). These aims are achieved through a combination of learning in individual subjects and, as we have outlined in the last chapter, engaging students in cross-curricular learning.
