Confidentiality
It is essential that pupils who participate in the programme feel secure in the knowledge that their contributions and all discussion within the group will be treated with respect and in confidence both by the facilitator and by the other pupils at all times, both inside and outside the group. When initially setting up the group and agreeing a set of rules, the issue of confidentiality needs to be stressed. The facilitator will need to emphasise that talking about the group and divulging other's views or problems outside the sessions would be a betrayal of trust and damage the confidence and self-esteem of all those who are involved in the group.
