Warm-Up Activity – ‘in the Manner of the Word’
In this game the facilitator provides one student with one adverb, e.g. happily, angrily, sadly, etc. That student is then asked to mime an action in the manner of the word to the rest of the group who are sitting in the circle as for Circle Time. For example, miming brushing your teeth in an angry manner. The first student who can correctly guess the right word then has a chance to have a go at doing the mime themselves. It should be feasible for all students to have a go at this activity.
