Introduction
Cameron, a bright year 7 student at a Catholic comprehensive school, had arrived from a secular multi-cultural, multi-racial primary school and found the mono-cultural focus of Religious Education lessons in sharp contrast to the multicultural, inclusive culture of his primary school. Having had a humanist rather than a religious upbringing he felt at a disadvantage in relation to his peers. Inquisitive, and not wanting to be perceived as ignorant, he asked his mother to buy him a simplified copy of the bible and proceeded to familiarise himself with bible stories.
