Since research is so fundamental to academic activity, we have devoted this last chapter entirely to that subject.
All students in the UK have to learn how to research. Every time you have to write an assignment, you will need to know how to find the best information – where to find it and how to evaluate the information. This is often called ‘secondary’ research – using other researchers’ information. You may also have to engage in what is called ‘primary’ research sometimes.
