Once a week, the Lunch Buddies Program pairs willing older students with younger students who have special needs to share a meal together. Typically the special needs students eat in their self-contained classroom. The experience of eating together benefits all students by developing mutual respect and support. Students enjoy one another’s company and learn how to interact with those who are different. The school sees the Lunch Buddies program as among the best learning experiences it has to offer.
