Fraser, Colorado, lies at 8,500 feet above sea level at the base of the Continental Divide. Mountains encircle this high alpine valley of rocky outcroppings, aspen trees, and a peculiar type of mountain folk who relish the fact that they live in a town with the official nickname, “The Icebox of the Nation.” Flatlanders are often intimidated by the ruggedness of the area. Moose and bear sightings are common and hikers routinely get lost on the vast network of trails. I'm one of those peculiar people who love this place. And when I'm not working, I am here on my skis, snowshoes, or mountain bike.
