Im not sure it will help anyone to observe in my classroom … but I'm willing to do it,” shrugs Nicole, a special education teacher in the Edmonds School District in Seattle, Washington. Nicole is a dedicated and earnest teacher of a challenging population of students with special needs. She has agreed to host an upcoming observation, or Student-Centered Learning Lab, while she teaches a group of nine third graders and two fourth graders who are on individualized education plans (IEP) and are pulled out to receive intensive math instruction.
