Research Methodology and Design

This chapter describes the research design used in GLOBE Phase 3. In Chapter 1, the history, theory, and some of the previous GLOBE findings were discussed. As mentioned, the first phase focused on the development and validation of a set of scales that were needed to test the constructs identified in the GLOBE conceptual model. In all, 21 primary leadership scales, nine dimensions of societal culture, and nine dimensions of organizational culture were assessed. Through two pilot studies, psychometric properties were evaluated for these scales.
