The rationale for conducting this new GLOBE project on executive level leadership follows from previous findings of GLOBE 2004 and GLOBE 2007 (Chhokar, Brodbeck, & House, 2007; House, Hanges, Javidan, Dorfman, & Gupta, 2004) as well as recent world events. Indeed, the importance of global leadership was highlighted by the central focus of the 2013 economic forum of world leaders in Davos, Switzerland (The Economist, 2013). This GLOBE project adds to the global leadership discussion by empirically assessing effective CEO leadership in 24 different countries.
