Introduction
There are many issues which impact the practice of teaching and learning. Planners, politicians, educators and teachers are renowned for their ability to create policies ‘on the hoof. They are also known for a lack of ‘joined-up thinking’: that is the essence of the tale of the two crisp policies below – the importance of one practice or policy relating to another.
It is paradoxical that education policies are not ‘joined up’ when inclusion dominates our thinking and practice (DfES, 2004f).
