New Orleans has an annual jazz festival where musicians of all sorts perform for days. During one of the days I attended, the Allman Brothers played. As I stood in the sun enjoying the music I noticed one of my undergraduate seminar students several yards away enjoying the same music. At that moment, the Allman Brothers were playing a cut from an album that had been extremely popular during my first semester of college, more than 20 years ago.
