Sexual offender treatment programs are well established in many countries (see Marshall, Hudson, Ward, & Fernandez, 1998), and the most effective treatment approach seems to be cognitive behavioral (Alexander, 1999). The cognitive behavioral model assumes that cognitions—thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs—play a key role in determining behavior.
