Sex and disability
The disabled body confronts how we might think ethically about the relationship between crime, sex and desire. Part of this confrontation stems from the paradoxical relationship between the human rights that a person with disabilities has, and the ethics of how they are practised. This chapter will explore the issues at stake when we discuss sex and disability from a criminological perspective. Although we are yet to establish a comprehensive criminology of disability and sexuality, there is an emerging body of work from disabilities studies which can help criminologists develop a better understanding of this topic.
