Introducing Action Teams
The overarching question that educators who want to bring about meaningful school change need to constantly keep in mind is, “What are students learning and achieving as a result of what educators are learning and doing in their action teams?”
The reason we have adults in schools is to help students learn. Improving student learning and achievement is the primary purpose of faculty and staff collaboration in action teams. It is “Job #1” and what schools, leaders, and faculty are held accountable to do. We purposefully used the term educators instead of teachers because other educators besides teachers are, and should be, members of action teams.
