Assessments of Tier 2

Tier 2 is characterized by targeted interventions designed to support or challenge students beyond the core curriculum. Because of that, the interventions are generally focused on the acquisition of specific skills. Being specific, they are not assessed through broad measures such as annual standardized tests. In fact, instruments such as normative achievement tests do not often provide needed information or strong links to appropriate interventions.
