Tier 3 is characterized by intensive interventions provided on a fairly individualized basis. Interventions are not only intensive, but they are also regular and frequent. They are considered longer-term interventions than those in Tier 2. Specialists in the particular area of targeted need often deliver the interventions. In some cases, Tier 3 interventions may require suspension of curriculum in areas outside the targeted intervention area.
