The Youth Matters Green Paper (July 2005) highlights the link between good emotional and physical health and success in learning while Making It Possible: Improving Mental Health and Wellbeing in England (2005) includes principles such as valuing yourself and others, talking about your feelings, keeping in touch with friends, getting involved and making a contribution, and asking for help. Building strong foundations to achieve these objectives through initiatives focused on supporting young people are essential.
