Working within a prevention and promotion field of Child and Adolescent Mental Health for the last six years has influenced the planning of the programmes and ideas behind them.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Sheffield have been supportive in allowing a number of workers to focus on the promotion of mental and emotional wellbeing. This has led to work being developed both universally and targeted at vulnerable groups. The work we undertake has three main tenets: capacity building, building resilience and addressing the needs of at-risk groups.

Focusing on risk and resilience enables people to recognise what they are already doing to promote mental health, and to identify additional things they could do.
