One of the most interesting areas in sociology in recent years has been the sociology of emotions. This subdiscipline has many derivations and many implications, but the most important one here is the realization that researchers of sexual violence are rarely the pure, disinterested scientists in white lab coats who were described to us in graduate school as the perfect models of good researchers.
