Often as teachers and parents, we are disappointed by the lack of any meaningful or intelligent reply from our students in response to questions such as:

“What did you think about

  • the television program,
  • the school camp,
  • the Prime Minister's statement
  • the proposal concerning…?”

The standard response is usually ‘Good’ or ‘Don't know’ or something particularly negative and the discussion ends there. As teachers and parents, we are disappointed at the inability of our charges to sustain a conversation and to comment beyond the superficial – (good!) and therefore I consider ‘Good’ to be ‘Bad’.
