There has been growing interest among qualitative researchers in understanding and scrutinizing the processes of writing up and publishing qualitative research as journal articles. Obtaining insight into these aspects of qualitative research is not straightforward, however. While the outcome – the published article – is readily available, decisions about how to write up qualitative data for publication typically are not.
