An Overview

Once safe and secure in their early years setting young children can begin to understand and work through legitimate and varied emotions. Children's behaviour is driven by thoughts and emotions, and when reflecting on any changes to a child's behaviour it is worth remembering that behaviour always originates in an emotion or feeling. Behaviours can be viewed as communication and young children will look to supportive adults to help them make sense of and manage those feelings and any resulting behaviours.
