An Overview
Personal, social and emotional development underpins all areas of a young child's progress and learning. All children need to be supported and encouraged to develop a secure sense of self as well as to begin to develop the important skills necessary to make friends and begin to get along well with others. Creating a warm, emotional environment can be seen as the starting point for welcoming two year olds into your setting. For children, being special to someone is fundamental to their personal, social and emotional health and well-being.
