Originally defined as “each student having uninterrupted access to personal, portable technology, 24/7,” one-to-one programs are growing at a rapid rate, gaining momentum worldwide, as a key to transforming education and better preparing young people to succeed in a global marketplace. Programs range from small proofs of concept to statewide deployments in the United States such as the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) and Freedom to Learn (FTL) in Michigan.
