This chapter sets out a range of tried and tested approaches to promoting calmness, conflict resolution, anger management and stress reduction. As massage is one of these techniques, it also includes an example of safe touch policy.

We also need to promote the emotional state, such as calmness, a sense of well-being, and feeling safe and valued, that make it easier to learn.
