Introduction
In the previous chapter, we discussed the identification and revitalization of weak products and services, paying particular attention to the corrective actions that can be used to improve the competitiveness of a weak product/service. If management realizes that no corrective action is feasible for the identified weak product or service, then the managerial attention shifts from the product/service itself to the impact upon the entire company of eliminating it. Certain evaluation factors related to the product elimination decision are considered to determine whether it is in the best interests of the company to eliminate or retain the product/service.
