Caution, Pitfalls Ahead!
Some have raised concerns about the average longevity of principals' careers and of mentoring programs. In response, we have reviewed mentoring program practices to create an awareness of potential pitfalls in a program's process. By identifying areas of concern, we hope to avoid situations that would have a negative impact on a mentor program and help alleviate some of the concerns. The following observations are not meant as criticisms, but rather as observations and findings based on the principles of cause and effect.
