Chapter 5: Research-in-Action and Coteaching
Research-in-Action and Coteaching
Research-in-action was great! We not only received information but we also experienced hands-on and minds-on activities and observed real teachers doing what we just learned about! What we saw today was practical learning that can be transferred to our own teaching. We saw students doing science and fully engaged in learning through inquiry. Thanks! You have expanded my horizons!
Coteaching is a promising and cost-effective tool that is applicable to almost any teaching situation. When we carefully paired teachers, we provided daily classroom support for them to collaboratively explore and implement new instructional innovations. This works really well when we have a more experienced teacher paired with a less experienced teacher.
