It is said in China, ‘May you be cursed to live in interesting times’ (Jencks, 1987). Judging from daily reports of current and international affairs, there is nothing dull about the time we are living through or where the world is heading. Obviously, gaining a handle on how it is changing and coming to terms with the implications of this for both business and for us as individuals is a strategic matter of inquiry.
