In writing this section, which we think of as the ‘how to’ section of the book, it seems important first to explain the background to our approach. We have a wide range of experience of setting up, managing and monitoring peer support services in schools and in the community, in Britain and abroad. Based on this experience, we have now run several trainings – for teachers, youth workers, social workers and other people concerned with the welfare of children and young people – on setting up peer support services.
