Introduction
8–12 marks are available for grammar.
One of the main jobs of a teacher is to work with colleagues in producing documents for a variety of audiences, from known people within the school to outside bodies, and for a range of purposes, from planning teaching to explaining and presenting work that has been done. That collaboration involves drafting, redrafting and proof-reading. This test does not test your writing nor your knowledge of grammatical terms; rather, it will test:
- your grasp of written Standard English;
- your ability to identify and use it unambiguously;
- your understanding of which style is appropriate to the text in question.
How will these three aspects of grammatical knowledge be tested? What, in detail, do you need to know about those aspects?
