Film is different from other media in a number of different ways, which means the narratives we find on film have some differences that are worth considering. A film is basically a series of photographic images projected at 24 frames per second, with accompanying sound (some of which is dialogue) and music used to tell a story of some kind. Audiences, through the willing suspension of disbelief, become emotionally affected by these images, sounds, and music, and also often identify with characters in films and learn something about themselves and about life in the process.
