This chapter, and Chapter 10, illustrate many of the ideas and practices described in this book, but inevitably not all – for example definitional ceremonies do not feature, as in my work setting I have little opportunity for this practice. Many counsellors work under similar restrictions, and I have selected these particular stories of therapy because I believe they show how it is possible to undertake narrative work within such limitations.
