The 12 chapters form the major part of this book and include a range of topics such as the philosophical framework for therapy, therapeutic approaches such as family therapy, counselling specific groups including those facing racism and discrimination, and frank talk(ing).
In Chapter 3, Eleftheriadou focuses on the underlying attitude and philosophy of counsellors and psychotherapists working in the transcultural field. The chapter proposes that an existential phenomenological philosophy provides an accessible framework for dealing with transcultural issues.
