Mentoring the Process of Change: A Case Study
This chapter describes the role of the mentor within a setting and will show how the mentoring process can encourage the development of critical reflective practice and lead to changes and improvements in the quality of educational provision for young children. It is based on personal experience and describes how, as a mentor, I worked with a nursery school team to assess and develop aspects of their practice and provision. The chapter explores the challenges faced when undertaking a mentoring project. It goes on to describe how to support staff to take on new ideas and to integrate them into their practice and make substantial changes and improvements.
