This chapter will continue our exploration of moving image production. We want to ask how work with the moving image, in this case television, can be a subset of a more general media literacy. But also we want to ask how even this subset is made up of many different components. The project we describe here focuses very specifically on some of these components rather than others – on filming rather than editing. Like all the other projects described in this book, it involves media production: filming a short section of a new hospital drama devised by the students (examples of student films can be seen on the CD-ROM).
