The 50 FACTs selected for this chapter were gathered from a variety of sources. Several of the FACTs included in this chapter were practiced and honed by the authors during their combined 25 years as middle and high school teachers and 35 years supporting the professional learning of mathematics and science teachers. Some FACTs were originally developed and used as professional development strategies for adult learners. Others have been gleaned from the literature on formative assessment.
