This chapter addresses deafness and its effect on learners in inclusive classrooms. Deaf learners experience very different degrees of hearing loss and its impact on learning varies. We will begin by exploring some essential information that teachers need to know to better understand deafness. Several case studies will be introduced to explore different individuals' experiences in primary school classrooms, and some strategies to support learners are discussed.
