What is Assessment?
Assessment is a mental process whereby a situation is observed and interpreted in order to ascertain its quality. Headington (2011: 73) says, ‘Assessment is about measuring or judging, what someone knows, understands and can do’. An adult might observe a child to determine how far they were able to count.
