Reverse logistics is the discipline concerned with the logistical planning of the management of returned goods, either because they have reached the end of their lifecycle or because they need to be recycled.
Logistics is the discipline dealing with the flow of products along supply chains and distribution channels. It deals with issues such as inventory management, transportation systems, and warehouse management. Although it is clearly related to many operations management concepts (e.g., supply chain management, the dependability of delivery and scheduling), it is a separate field of study.
