Broadly speaking, psychometric tests allow the identification and measurement of particular characteristics (such as ability, aptitude, attainment, intelligence or personality) of individuals. They provide systematic scoring and administration in order to allow comparison between the testee and the population against which the test has been validated.
The main categories of test include:
- Personality Personality inventories seek to identify the characteristics and form of the individual's personality using a particular model or theory of what personality means.
