‘Wisdom’ is a word rarely uttered in professional or official educational discourse. Anglo-Saxon in origin, it was already well established prior to the great melting pot of the Renaissance that gave us so many of the words and meanings that now frame our understanding of what constitutes education. Conceptually, wisdom is closely related to experience.
