Teachers and trainee teachers need to see the ‘bigger picture’ when it comes to writing. Teaching writing involves more than simply teaching the mechanics of writing such as spelling, grammar and punctuation. Writing takes place right across the curriculum and good teachers see opportunities for teaching writing in every lesson.
