Flying the Racist Skies: Discrimination in the Airlines
Convinced they were victims of racial discrimination, 12 veteran African American pilots filed a lawsuit against United Continental Holdings, which is the parent company of United Airlines. Their claim is that the company has a history of engaging in discriminatory behaviors that span the United States. One plaintiff, Captain Leon Miller, shared that the pilots have struggled for inclusion, which is an issue that has plagued the company for a long time. The claims date back to 2009.
