In bringing the various perspectives in this volume together, a quick recap of the notion of ‘development’ is necessary, but with a different emphasis to that of Richard P. Appelbaum in Chapter 3. Navigating through the chapters in this volume, one senses the intricacies of development theory and practice. Development, as an idea, has come a long way.
