Chapter 6: Teaching Devices for Increasing Student Learning from Lectures
Teaching Devices for Increasing Student Learning from Lectures
In this chapter, we will add to our key ring new keys that will help make us more powerful teachers. With only small adaptations to the ways we typically teach, we can teach all of our students—not simply the average and bright ones. When all of our students are educated citizens, we all win.
The different strategies in this chapter serve a variety of needs. Many lessons we teach can be enhanced by using several of the strategies in one lesson, thereby allowing us to accommodate more needs. When students find that we are meeting their needs, they become more highly motivated to learn. The success cycle escalates, and everybody wins.
